Barack Obama: Yes, You Are Black

Did you see my man, Barack Obama the other night? He and Mrs. Clinton bumped heads. I thought I might have to break it up, talk about cats and dogs. Now, as we know, Senator Barack Obama is accomplishing things that a black man has never accomplished before. He is showing the world something new and taking the negro race right along with him. I’ve been watching this man, still watching him, but he definitely deserves my praise.

That debate the other night caught my attention, all I could say was - Go Barack Obama! - represent “homeboy”. He showed some hood and I saw and felt the “struggle” this black man is going through loud and clear. Mrs. Clinton is also under pressure being a woman but her’s is a different fight, an easier fight, Barack Obama is a BLACK MAN, this is a hard thing to be.

Senator Barack Obama is showing he ain’t scared - he’s talking and showing his “hood” knowledge - black people come in many shapes and sizes intellectually. Barack Obama, you are doing just fine and looking real good.

The Art Of Pastel Portraiture

There is no more enjoyable activity for a portrait artist than the art of pastel portraiture. An artist who uses pastels enjoys both worlds - the world of dry media and the world of wet media. Let me explain why I said “wet" media, yes, a pasteI is most certainly a dry , hard substance, but a skilled pastel artist can make a pastel give the effect of oil paint, which as we know, is a “wet” media or medium. I myself can do this, it’s all about feeling the power of pastel.

Pastels give the artist the ability to produce wonderful effects, and it has one quality only a very few other mediums have: it can be touched, and worked with, just like the finger-painting of a child. But paint cannot be applied without a brush to any effect, one has to relie on his or her ability to handle a brush. Colors can be created and mixed like with using paint but again, success in this area depends on the artist’s skills. And remember you are working with a dry substance, but a dry sustance that has a unique quality and does what colored pencil can’t: mix like paint. In the art of pastel portraiture artists often use this unique quality to their advantage when attempting to exactly reproduce the subjects flesh tones, etc. and other parts of a portrait that stand out prominently. This blending of color is hard to accomplish using other dry mediums. Pastel does have special qualities.

The only way to experience the uniqueness of pastels and gain an understanding of why certain artist perfer them, is to start using this fine. The art of pastel portraiture will give an artist a new found respect for the magic of pastels. Pastels allow one to have both worlds of art: the dry one, along with the wet one. Get involved in the art of pastel portraiture today and enter a new world of color and portraiture.

Secret Revealed: Why The Rolling Stones, The Eagles And Other Bands Are Back!

Older bands and older singers are more popular than the current ones. Why? I know why - recording artist like The Rolling Stones, The Police, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles have something our current entertainers don’t: musical talent.

With the music industry's current ‘bring’m in, throw’m out’ mentality, what more could you expect? What the present music scene needs it exactly what these individuals provide: real good music. They give you creativity, musical ability, along with excitement - the very things the music industry is missing today. Trying to find decent music on the radio today can be a challenge, it can really bring a music-lover(like myself) to anger - good music is just simply hard to find on many a radio station. One has to go to the oldies or 70s, 80s radio stations. This is a crying shame, I’m sure you agree with my view on this.

Think on this: The Eagles made a song called “Hotel California”, it is a true gem, we know all the words to this masterpiece of a song. Now, tell me of a few recordings you know of now, current hits, that can stand up to that Eagle’s musical creation. Yep, you had to think for awhile didn’t you? The sorry material coming out of the present-day state of the music industry is testamount to a conspiracy, we all know the record business can do better. Now their up in arms over the low sales of cds - as if we the public were fools - we know bad music when we hear it. The music world needs to change; go back to true talent; great songwriting; great production and then it will see a turnaround.

It’s so nice to see recording artist from decades gone by in the limelight again. Musical giants like Led Zeppelin, The Police and The Rolling Stones bring along with them - showmanship, character, originality and most of all - really good music. Most of the present-day singers and bands could learn alot from these music world icons - that they(again, most of them, not all) are a far cry from these distinguished artist.
