Economy Down But We Can Be Up

The economy is down but that shouldn’t be a reason for us to be down. When things are bad we need to use the dire circumstances to strengthen our psychological forces, increase our capacity to make positive change. Now can be a time for personal development and self-improvement. Going around with a frown won’t get us out of the uncomfortable state we are presently in, only a strong resolve to change our nation’s economy will get us to a brighter day. We can all help turn things around, we all can contribute something.

Little things mean alot in times like this - a smile, a hanshake, a kind word - these simple actions can have profound results. Haven’t we all felt a gloomy day turn sunny by the little gesture of an unexpected smile from someone. Yes, I just love when that happens, and I always try to do the same when I’m out about the town, too. The fact is positive actions provoke positive actions, I need not drill you on this fact, we all know it. So, let’s be friendlier...let’s be nicer to each other in these difficult times. Maybe we can quicken this nation’s economic and social upturn by having a more positive and uplifting mental attitude. Let’s try.

New Year's Day Is Here Already!!!

Man...well...it’s getting close to the end...the end of the year. After Christmas(which I hope all of you enjoyed), we know what cones next: NEW YEAR’S DAY!!! This special day is extremely important for us all, it is a measuring stick, a time clock that lets us know that there is no more time left to do anything, accomplish anything...time is up. New Year’s Day! If you still need time to reach some goal you set earlier in 2008, well, sorry, but there is no more time available. It’s a New Year, so did you meet the deadline? Did you keep your promises?

Now, the uncompleted tasks and goals we all set at the start of a new year shouldn’t be a cause for sadness and disappointment - if we earnestly tried to accomplish the things stated at the beginning of 2008. And Remember, along with the the end of every year Father Time ushers in a new beginning called “New Year’s Day”. So, see? There is a silver-lining after all - we get to try again, my friends. Let us look back on 2008 with joy in our hearts, for we made it through another year, and are now about to enter a new cycle, another 12 months to get things done. Everybody, HAPPY NEW YEAR’S DAY!!!!

America, Halloween Is Coming!

Time for the ghouls, the goblins(esp. the little goblins), the witches and the rest to have some fun. Yes, Halloween can be quite the joyous occasion. I can remember trolling around the neighborhood streets with my friends searching for that golden treasure - Halloween candy - the stuff that makes Halloween such a special day for children. Yeah, those were the days!

Also, those were the early years when I didn’t have a care for the world; all was good, play, eat...then play some more. In those days one can really enjoy the holidays to their fullest - even Halloween - the strangest holiday of all. But now that I’m older, more mature, tackling the world, Halloween isn't the big show it used to be. It now, at times, reminds me of the horrific, and scary times we all face in this nation. People, Halloween seems to remind me of the terrifying, gloomy economy we Americans find ourselves in. Things are real scary right about now, the witches and ghouls are having their way with the American economy. And that fact tries to frighten the mess out of me.

Look at this: “Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve, and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson are struggling mightily to stabilize credit markets...” I read this somewhere recently. Ah man, ain’t that a terrifying bit of news? The monsters are winning folks...better go to plan B...Halloween has moved out of the virtual realm. We need change and change SOON - this country is in shambles... See what I had to say about all of this chaos months ago: Federal Reserve Chairman, Mr. Bernanke, On US Economy. Halloween lasting this long? Please!~!!!

Alright, not the one to scare the kids without a solution. Here is a solution to help us through these dark times, so we can enjoy this Halloween, and even use it for personal development and self-growth: The Halloween Method. We have to grow up and face the ambassordores of doom with the light of HOPE. Yes, be positive fellow Americans, it will help us through these tough times.

So, did I mess up Halloween for ya? Well, I hope I made it more thrilling, I brought out the underlying thoughts we all are thinking these days. I just wanted to bring attention to how subtle thoughts can be while still having force enough to negatively impact us. Go out everyone and enjoy Halloween!!

Make Room For Positive Thinking

As you know the negative is always around, always on the prowl, always at the door - it seems to be adept at attacking us when we least expect it. The world of darkness, with its croonies just loves bringing us down, spoiling our days...sucking out all the light and joy we have in our lives. They’re just a gloomy bunch, and letting them hang-out with you will surely be a bad, bad decision - no good will come from having this group around.

But, hey, there is hope for us...we can do things to keep this gang from approaching us...we can fight back. Positive thinking, yeah I know, you heard all this before but really, it does work; the results can be surprising. Think about it, maybe we are allowing Fear, Pain, Hate, Jealousy, and the rest of the crew to to get away with murder: murder of our mental health.

Try this: for each negative, unclean thought, think two positive, healthy thoughts. Oh, don’t be fooled, changing one’s mind into the positive thinking mode isn’t an easy thing to accomplish - it’s not like turning the key in an ignition...no...no...that’s not the way it works. The world is presently overwhelmed with low thought vibrations, and unhealthy mind states. So, implementing the plan above will not be an easy task, for the dear earth of ours is full of the negative, its everywhere we look. To succeed in the combating of negative thinking takes a determined effort, you will have to be diligent and alert...the enemies of positive thinking will not stop trying to envade your mind sphere...these guys are relentless. So you better stay attentive, alert to any negative thought that enters your mind - DON'T ALLOW ANY MOOD-LOWERING THOUGHT RESIDENCE IN YOUR MIND. That won’t be a piece of cake but you must try to do it. Try and try again, it will become easier as you practice this routine.

And when positive thinking just seems to be like lifting a truck, remember that every journey begins with the first step. Start your journey to a better life today, refused to let the Gloom Team be winners in your life - face them, combat them - and WIN.

Self-Improvement, The Real Reason People Go On Vacation

People say they want a vacation; that they need a vacation to rest their nerves. They say a vacation or trip will give them a break from the hussle and bussle of their day-to-day lives, esp. their work lives. But they never really get to the issues of why they need a break from work. The reasons they say don’t get to the core of the vacation dilemma - the why of the vacation equation - why they feel they need this detour from regular life.

I think I know the true reason for vacations, people want a vacation to install a new way of living and to bring about another way of living an thinking, even if just for a few days or weeks - it’s for there self-improvement. Vacations give us a chance to radically transform the manner in which we see and go about living in this busy and sometimes hustle world. Self-improvement and personal development are the real undercurrents of this request for break in our usual routine. Sure, we are not usually aware of this hidden aim and mistakenly refer to it as “I need a break from work”, “I’m going to the islands to relax”, or “I just need to get away for a while”...

The anthems above state our thoughts to a degree, but they don’t get to the root of the problem - why we think an stoppage, a vacation, is necessary? Why this need for relaxation. We secretly desire a new way of thinking, a new way of feeling, a new way of acting - we want self-improvement in our lives - our vacations are for personal development and self-improvement. We take a trip to do more than just kick-back in the sun, no, we attempt to better our minds and bodies by this endeaver. We are really seeking to build up or inner resolve, our mental and physical, even spiritual muscles - not a relaxation. The when we return to day-to-day, usual stuff, we will be recharged, more capable of dealing with lives issues. This, my friend, is the true reason for our desire for a vacation...think on this...

On your next hiatus remember this post, try to see your real desires in wanting that trip to the Bahamas...it’s not really the Bahamas you are seeking. What you seek is a more enjoyable existence, a way to implement self-improvement. So, get to the true reason and make your next vacation all it can be.

Barack Obama, Democratic Nominee - A Personal Development Example

Barack Obama did it , he won the delegate race, and by doing that won the Democratic nomination. Barack took everything Senator Hillary Clinton and team threw at him, and he took it like a man, when I thought here we go again...bye...bye Mr. Obama...he survived and continued on... This man his a strength, a silent powerful strength, he is showing America what personal development can do, what faith in oneself can accomplish. Mr. Barack Obama doesn’t seem to understand failure, he doesn’t seem to hear the nay-sayers, he just goes forth, focused and determined. That my friends, is the result of a personal development and self-growth program that Obama has obviously been using through this entire campaign to reach the White House. We heard and hear personal development mentality in his speeches, in the way he carries himself. Barack Obama is a man full of will.

The issues with his finances, the questions about his religion, and that situation about his pastor - all successfully dealt with - show the character of a strong-willed man - a man named Barack Obama. This man has accomplished something few americans ever thought would ever happen: a black man winning the Democratic presidential nomination or any other seat close to the presidency. But Obama shocked us all by winning the Democratic presidential nomination. His personal development regimen works, and works really good.

Positive thinking, self-help, bravery, self-improvement, theses quality and more are exemplified by Barack Obama in this historic race to become the next president of these United States of America. He is such a example of personal development and the powers it can unleashed in our lives. I think Obama for this wonderful example of man’s inner resources.

Using Cool Personal Development Slogans

I’ve been thinking about personal development and how it can really improve a person's spiritual, mental and physical being. How It can take the draining life you now have, and transform it into a lovely garden of inspiration that gives others something to live for and hope for. All the self-help gurus agree on this issue.

In the world of personal development and self-help you find statements, slogans, affirmations and mottos that are the laws attempt to live by. These slogans can be powerful catalyst for changing the way we see the ourselves and the outside world. Heres some of my personal favorites:

1. “Think Positively”
2. “You Have to Empty Your Mind of Negative Thoughts to Put Positive Thoughts In”
3. “Pick Yourself Up By the Bootstraps”
4. “Change Your Mind, Change Your Life”
5. “Set Some Goals”
6. “Life Is What You Make It”
7. “You Have to Change Your Beliefs”

As I said above, personal development hinges on slogans and affirmations - these are the staples that hold it together, without them no self-help program will succeed - the personal development plan seeks to lead us down a path to fulfillment of these very statements. These mottos and slogans are the goal, they describe the results hoped for, the heaven we want so badly to enter - they represent the promise - the promise of a better life. But that where most of us run into a dead-end. We find out that words in themselves carry little weight and that being the case - we fall far short of our goal of a more fulfilling existence.

Personal development is not just a verbal exercise, it demands honesty, alertness and most of all - willpower. Without willpower you are doomed to failure, no self-help course of action will succeed where there is little or no willpower on the part of its participants. This is the major stumbling block, and the reason for no positive change in the lives of most people who try to implement a personal development regime. They just can’t find the steadfastness needed to complete the plan and fall short of the so wished for goal.

So know that the new-agers and the self-help, personal development gurus will throw out many a slogan but you must be the one to nuture the affirmation into a solid and living reality. You are the one who will have to battle with your negative blocks and ways of doing things. All responsibility for your life always relies on you, no one can change you but you, they can help you but all real change must come from your own initiative.

I invite you to re-read all the statements above, try to install them deep into your mental machine, attempt to live by them...it will require alot of effort but the results will be rewarding. You and only you hold the key to a more enjoyable life. Make today the day you take command of your mind, body and soul.

Do You Know The Secret To Rhonda Byrne’s “The Secret”?

Tell me something, my dedicated and loyal readers, are you a fan of the book “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne? It must be a fine book, well at least babygirl Oprah Winfrey thinks so. “So you believe everything Oprah Winfrey says, huh”, I hear you...but, maybe you are really expressing your own reliance upon Miss. Winfrey’s guidance, which is usually beneficial - indeed. Now...now...now, before you all say I’m being alittle too defensive - I mean you no harm fair ones. I’m just presenting my views, I love you guys. Next.

Rhonda Byrne, author of “The Secret”, must have hear and read the ideas contained in the book, I for one surely have. And I heard them a long time ago and I ain’t the only one. This is not a knock on Rhonda Byrne or her popular book, “The Secret”. Again...I’m only expressing a personal view, but true view, and nothing more. Now I will reveal where I first discovered the thoughts and course of action prescribed in “The Secret”. There are to famous books from days gone by that present the same program that makes up the contents of Rhonda Byrne’s book. “Think & Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, the other by Claude M. Bristol called “The Magic of Believing”, both books - gems in the field of personal development and self-help - contain what you see and read in “The Secret”. Take a look.

Now, know this, Rhonda Byrne has done a great service by reigniting the flame of personal development and self-help. “The Secret” is a valuable book for our personal development if put into action - put into action - being the real “secret”. It is valuable in that it has awakened interest in mankind’s inner resources, in his ability to totally change his life for the better solely through using his god-given will-power. There is certainly room on the shelf for “The Secret”, it deserves a spot along side its predecessors: Napoleon Hill’s “Think & Grow Rich” and Claude M. Bristol’s “The Magic of Believing”. Oprah’s with it for some reason - remember - she definitely doesn’t need the money.

Federal Reserve Chairman, Mr. Bernanke, On US Economy

Yes, as you’ve noticed, I’ve been away a bit. You guys didn’t get too lonely did ya? I’m OK, I‘ve just been busy, busy, busy...but I’m back now and here’s the scoop: The economy is in bad shape. I hope that bit of top secret info didn’t cause you guys too much shock, they(the Feds, etc.) have pulled the wool over our sweet little sheep eyes again. I remember hearing the Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke, say in the latter part of last year that we were not in for a recession, but I knew from the looks of things - jobs, gas, housing - that oh yes, we were in a recession in 2007 and certainly now in 2008 - the Feds always have a way of hiding the truth. It’s called lying, oh my, such a dirty word. You mean the federal government, our fine and distingished statesmen lied to us. Why treat us like this, we sheep haven’t done anything wrong, we’re always good little blind and nieve creatures...Why?...Why?...Why?

America might be the “promise land” but we don’t always get everything we’re promised. Mr. Ben Bernanke , our beloved Fed Chairman, has finally admitted what most of us knew all along - we are in - okay, we are heading in the direction of a recession. Whoo...I think I need to wipe my face after that one. You would have thought Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke was pulling teeth - but whose teeth, ours or his? Any way folks, we going to be alright. Right?

Of course, I must, I must, it’s my solemn duty to leave you with some bountiful, uplifting thoughts to lighten your load. Even though our most honored and respected Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke has given us some rather foil news - we must not let that send our minds and hearts into a pessimstic dungeon. This is a first time we have experienced quite a few times before, a recession, a downturn in the economy, and surely it won’t be the last. This United States of America will make it through these somewhat turbulent times and each and everyone of us loyal sheep will take our part in this country’s recovery. We will make, we will make it. We all should focus on what we as single individuals can do to make America, our glorious country, what it has always been - The world’s strongest nation. Stand up and salute this wonderful place called the “United States of America”. I leave you all with this.

Maybe The Poetry Of Alfred, Lord Tennyson Can Help

Want to lift you spirits? Well, how about this? - let’s learn to jot down some poetry - poetry can really bring a dull mind up, and help one see life from a whole new spectrum. Most of you reading this think you would only be wasting thy precious time reading poems and writing poetry - I beg to differ. Alfred Tennyson, Robert Bly, David Thoreau, William Blake, Emily Dickinson, James Joyce, Joanna Baillie - all great poets who found great dimensions in the use of the written word. These poetry lovers and many more just like them, see here: all about poets, thought man could, and can see more into his existence by expressing himself through the written word. Go there and find wonderful poets and consciousness-raising poetry that I’m sure will enlighten your mental state. Words can hurt - but they can also heal.

Poetry is founded not just on the the abilty to rhyme words, that’s not the sole reason or foundation for the creation of poetry. A poet attempts to convey his or her inner perception - their soul - regarding a given subject or subjects. Poems are his medium.They want to communicate their feelings in a direct way - away that can startle and confuse our so mudane minds. Take this, read this sampling from Alfred, Lord Tennyson(1809-1892):

“Ring Out, Wild Bells"

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light;
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
Ring out the grief that saps the mind,
For those that here we see no more,
Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
Ring in redress to all mankind.
Ring out a slowly dying cause,
And ancient forms of party strife;
Ring in the nobler modes of life,
With sweeter manners, purer laws.
Ring out the want, the care, the sin,
The faithless coldness of the times;
Ring out, ring out thy mournful rhymes,
But ring the fuller minstrel in.
Ring out false pride in place and blood,
The civic slander and the spite;
Ring in the love of truth and right,
Ring in the common love of good.
Ring out old shapes of foul disease,
Ring out the narrowing lust of gold;
Ring out the thousand wars of old,
Ring in the thousand years of peace.
Ring in the valiant man and free,
The larger heart, the kindlier hand;
Ring out the darkness of the land,
Ring in the Christ that is to be.

See how this poet used his soul speech to take us whirlwinding through the mystical wonderland of a great poet, this is poetry to shake the “soul”. I bow to you in thankfulness, oh Lord Tennyson. You have just entered the inner sanctum of this great poets mind, time has no influence here, his dear words are as powerful today as they were when first put to paper in the year 1850 - be assured, time carries no strengh in these realms...dear one. And another by Emily Dickinson(1830-1886):

“A Day”

I'll tell you how the sun rose, -
A ribbon at a time.
The steeples swam in amethyst,
The news like squirrels ran.

The hills untied their bonnets,
The bobolinks begun.
Then I said softly to myself,
"That must have been the sun!"

But how he set, I know not.
There seemed a purple stile
Which little yellow boys and girls
Were climbing all the while

Till when they reached the other side,
A dominic in gray
Put gently up the evening bars,
And led the flock away.

How she touches the mind and senses so delicately, how we flow innocently into the living streams of her so fulfilling utterances. This be fine poetry, indeed. But, mind you; not all poetry is so lightening, so soft - some poetry hits like a sledge hammer - calling for movement, action on the part of its receiver. No...no...no...some poets seek to get us to act , to move in a certain direction. Oh yes, my friend, becoming a poet will take all of you and that is what life asks of us - ALL.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Showed The Way

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968 - the day America will always mourn - one of its most courageous and upright citizens was killed by a sniper’s bullet. Since the horrible slaying of Dr. King, this nation has certainly progressed in racial relations, which shows what a positive and noble aim can accomplish. America is a better country from the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and others like him.

This United States of America has always been a country known for great its commitments, innovations and accomplishments - and equalizing the rights of all of its populace was one of its most ground-breaking actions. Its corrected civil rights policies have gone a long ways to improving this nation and making it a true “melting pot”. And individuals like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are the founding fathers of these civil right statutes. Our many races are now living far more harmoniously then before changes to the civil rights laws. Great nations do great things.

So lets remember the death of this great and intelligent man and continue to improve our nation’s racial and social issues. Let us remember the sadness of this day, but let us also remember the joy that this man has help create in all of our lives. We, along with the “DREAM” of one Dr, Martin Luther King, Jr., can do it. We just have to want it. Think about it.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

You Can Change Negative Situations

Acting in positive ways can transform a troubled mind. Man is a walking chemistry laboratory, our minds and bodies are in constant change. By understanding this we can benefit greatly and add more hamony to our daily lives, because in living, times come when we just can’t muster the will to change a stream of negative, demeaning thoughts; this being so, we find ourselves ravished by joy-robbing thoughts and feelings - thoughts and feelings that can ruin us, instead of build us up. We find our lives getting more and more dull and lifeless. But there is a way out of this dungeon, and it only requires a honest effort to make it work.

Our lives are constantly bombarded by low quality influences; these influences are coming in from an array of sources: television, radio and now the internet. If we want to have a more joyous life experience we all must take responsibility for our mental well-being. I’m proposing a method that will seem simple but let me assure you it will take will-power to accomplish.

I know this plan of action works because I’ve used it more than once myself. And I’m sure I will make use of it again. Our mental as well as our physical well-being should always come fisrt in our lives. Now, this is what I'm advising: the next time you find yourself battling bad thoughts, think of and perform a positve act or action. Yeah, that’s it, just flip-the-script and immediately do something uplifting. What I’m talking about is doing a positve action, preferably a physical act. A physical act will have more effect than simply thinking about the chosen action; a physical action will have a definite on deeper parts of your mind. Try it and see. Thinking is a lighter activity, physical activity requires our whole being. With is technique you will be calling in resources you don’t usually use to help you defeat those dreaded, low thought and emotional patterns.

The positive action you will perform doesn’t have to be overly difficult, it doesn’t have to match the negative menace you are attempting to uproot - it just needs to be a truly positive action. Here’s an example: someone says a mean and evil thing to you at work, you do your best not to let it bother you and on the way home you go to the car wash, or better, you personally wash your car. The washing of the car seems totally unconnected; certainly has nothing in common with that foul-mouth person at work, but they are related. Like the two poles of a horse-shoe magnet they are related - the positve and the negative - related but no the same. What you will be doing is changing, lowering the force(amperage, voltage) of your mind’s negative pole. Yes, this is a little scientific, but hang in there with me...Continuing.... the car washing will, indeed, have an effect on the negative charge of the earlier event with the co-worker. You will be working and mixing bio-energy, a result will come about. You will see that you are feeling better from having washed your car. Almost, like magic, you will begin to be less bothered by that prceeding occurance. If not - wash the car again.

This personal development program works, I know from my very life that it does. Read this information as many times as needed. If you use it in earnest, you’ll acheive results. Take charge of your mind, don’t let the negative, unhealthy influences and currents we live in have their way with you. Start implementing my personal development program today and start living life more fully.

    Talking About Self-Growth: Fake Teachers

    You know them, their on television, on your AM dial, their everywhere and you continuously try to implement their false regimens. Just like those odd, unsafe and uneffective diet plans we are bombarded with, we are constant targets for worthless self-growth and self-improvement courses and plans.

    The only defense for these self-help and personal development gurus is a clear mind. The very thing so-called self-growth teachers and preachers promise to give you with their books, lectures and instructions. These smiling and clever individuals are quite aware that their teachings are in most cases totally valueless but fame and money are too attractive for them to resist. That being so, these fake and in many cases, misguided souls are more than willing to sell you a bill of goods. But if you listen with attention and use your reason , you will see that most of these teachers of self-growth are just actors. They say what they think you want to hear.

    Self-growth as it is taught today is like taking a pill - they say change comes instantly - and just like magic you get a better life. Today’s personal development gurus love teaching that your live experience can be transformed quickly - and seeming with little effort on our part. This is a LIE - man is not some type of computer - with replacable parts - that if replace all will function properly. But this is what the majority of self-growth instructors claim.

    For any self-improvement regimen to succeed, a person must observe themselves and really see how they function in their day-to-day lives. This and only this will assure insure a clear analysis of their mental structure - shredding light on problems. Our minds have all to do with the way we handle issues in our lives. Start with your precious mind first, it should be your starting point.

    Now the self-growth industry says stop being negative; stop being jealous; stop being sad but to accomplish these things requires determination and a will of iron. Our minds are powerful and we can’t just say we will change and then like magic we are new and improved. Sad but that's what our self-growth teachers are saying at every opportunity.

    To improve your life remember that which is making the decisions - your mind - and make a sincere effort to change the way it acts and react - then you will began to enter true personal development. Things promised by the so-called self-improvement gurus will start to appear in your life. Your life will become more manageable, more enjoyable. Your mental makeup will have changed making your experience more in line with your goals. This awaits you but it will require determination, again determination.

    A Personal Development Plan Will Help You

    We humans seem to always just want to do enough, just get by. We settle for a B when we could have tried harder and made an A. People often do and accomplish things with the least amount of effort they can muster - we usually choose the easiest route. We never want to really have to battle with an issue in our lives, we just want it solved in the quickest and easiest manner possible, but remember - no pain, no gain.

    Finding an easy solution to a problem may feel good but it won’t help you develop and strengthen your mental facilities. Your mind needs exercise just like your body. Yes, you can increase the power of your mind - you can make it retain thoughts better(memory), you can make it more alert, more conscious of its surroundings, etc...Personal development means exactly these things. Personal development asks us to consider the way we make use of our bodies and minds. It gives us a procedure to use that will end in a more useful and skillful mind. This is something we all can use, I’m sure you agree. Start a personal development plan of action in your life today.
