Jordin Sparks Signs With Jive!!

Jordin Sparks just signed with Jive Records. Well, that’s the goal: get on American Idol, get seen and get a record contract. Mission complete. Jordin now you get to do what you always wanted to do: sing for a living. What she has accomplished is what every single contestant on that show dreams about. Don’t hate me Jordin, but I can do without your singing - but that face is to die for. So, you do have some value - pretty faces come a dime a dozen only in the modeling and entertainment business. You are a nice, attractive-looking female, so even if your singing isn’t all that - that face makes up for it to an extent. Value is value.

Jive, Epic, MCA and all the other record companies look at the money first - musical skills second. Their prime objective is to sell records anyway they can, and good looks fit right in to their marketing strategy. Miss Sparks certainly has the look thing going, and that may be enough to propel her into superstardom. As I write this article, I see her pretty face in my minds eye. She got a look that catches the eye. Their talking(haters) about her weight; but it’s barely noticed, because babygirl is so fine above the neck. Oh yeah, before I forget - has anyone seen that beauty on that other American Idol clone, on that other competing network? She could be Jordin Sparks’ sister - no kidding. Another pretty thing testing the formula. Sex sells.

Now, the results this type of activity has on the recording industry is far reaching, it’s one of the primary reasons we have so much mediocre music on our airwaves. It’s not new to this era, no...., you could go back to the 40s and 50s and find worthless music. The generations all have the talented and the untalented. Just because a person can’t sing, that doesn’t mean he won’t make it in the record business - their are many examples of this - you know who they are. Yes, they can’t or couldn’t sing but they sell or sold millions of records. Some of these people are not attractive, so they had to be marketed in a different fashion from a Britney Spears or a Jordin Sparks. But pretty faces and pretty bodies are the most sought after components in the of maketing an average singer. Jordin Sparks is a shoe-in for sex appeal marketing - she has the “look”. Oh, how I love a pretty face.

Jordin, baby, I’ll be watching and even listening for you. Maybe you will surprise me and create an awesome album. You might get into the studio with a producer that will transform your sound, and bring out talent I just don’t hear yet. The types do exist in the music industry - getting them to work with you can be a challenge, though. I’ll be watching Jordin, so do your thing.

American Idol: The Search for Talent Begins

Well, well, their having auditions, American Idol, that is. The team - Paula, Simon and the rest - are at it again, looking forward to a new season. What new spectacle will they present to the world next? What untalented specimens will they usher onto the national stage - make that world stage - this time. Their holding auditions throughout the country and I haven’t even thought of trying out. Why? Do I not feel I could be chosen? No, that isn’t it. I just don’t see myself associated with a show that showcases theatrics instead of musical talent, something I possess in abundance.

American Idol is for those singers bordering on comedy and illusion. It’s for people who are under the illusion that they are real singers. It is obvious to me that these contestants don’t really hear themselves. How else could a person put themselves before a world audience and make a fool of themselves. Can’t they hear themselves? Can’t they see the true angle of American Idol: humiliation and comedy, not singing ability. The national, as well as, the international community feeds on drama and comedic behavior. The media knows this and caters to the need in us to see others make clowns of themselves. We simply love it, as long as it isn’t us being the clown.

You might think from my words that I’m not a fan of American Idol. Well, I don’t hate the show, I just see it as a circus, with humans as the acts instead of animals. I don’t enjoy seeing talentless singers acting like they are talented singers. I feel Prince was right in the way he treated the show - for he certainly didn’t fit in with the unreality of the show. Prince has talent, real talent, and he only appeared on the show for business purposes; years ago he would have refused to appear on the show. So those are my thoughts on American Idol. They find talent alright - it’s just not singing talent.

HOW TO BECOME A ***ROCK STAR*** : THE 5 STEPS!!

So you want to be the next Elvis or Stevie Nicks, huh? I’m going to show you how. Many people would like to become a rock star, this is a dream of the talented as well as the untalented(the majority of us). But most are aware that we could never become an Elvis or a Stevie Nicks. Most of us know we should never approach a microphone or attempt to persue a career in the competitive music world. Being a successful recording artist isn't an easy task. There are many important things that must occur in order to make a living as a recording artist. The obsence of these requirements is what separates the successes from the failures. This article will shade some light on the secrets of becoming a success in the music business, read these steps carefully:

1. Be able to sing - come on, I hope you were not thinking of doing the American Idol thing, were you? The voice is the center piece, the glue that holds every thing together. What kind of rock star are you going to be if you can’t sing? Listen to your records, listen to your cds, listen to the radio - what do you hear? You hear someone singing. A rock star must be able to sing. At least the people on American Idol attempt to sing, though most contestants never should have tried. Talk about public humiliation. So understand from the beginning that you need to be able and ready to show your vocal skills.

2. Charisma - this is also called “stage presence” and these artists: Micheal Jackson, the Beatles, Mic Jagger, Madonna, Chaka Khan, Prince, the Jackson 5, Elvis - all have or had it. They all are must see acts. These people, are all show-stoppers. Energy seems to be their middle name, and their singing ability is exceptional. Okay, Mic’s vocal skills aren’t the greatest, but the way he uses the little that he posesses is so amazing, Mic’s style of singing is so powerful that you don’t mind that his voice isn’t the most melodic. Some artist just have that attention grabbing presence. We feel them and we are attracted to them, even when they are no the most talented vocally - they simply have that something.

3. Music - what does your music sound like? Are the songs harmonic? Do the instruments combine in a pleasing way? Is the timing on the tracks correct? Can you hear that bass track clearly? Is that guitar solo being presented the way you want it to be? Is the lead vocal coming in with the energy that you planned? These items and more must enter your mind when making a song that potentially millions of people will hear. Now, I'm sure you are starting to see that making music is hard work. This is the part that the music industry and the recording artists themselves rarely talk about. These are the things that shock nearly every novice singer or music act. This is the unknown part of what is called “the music business”. Every successful recording artist will tell you that there is hard work involved before, and along with the “glamour” that the world sees. Again, make sure your songs are as complete and perfect as you can make them. If you can’t do the things I just spoke about, you will have to find persons who can do them. This usually requires money. This is a big problem for most beginning recording acts. It is a major cause of failure. If you can’t write songs, you can't play instruments - you are going to have to hire those who can in most cases. They are what are known as “songwriters” and “producers”. Your task is to find them and make music. See, I told you it wasn’t easy. Not easy at all.

4. Management - As I spoke above, making it in the music business isn’t easy and requires hard work. You will need to conduct yourself in a professional and business-like manner. Either you or another individual will have to manage your music career. Finding a good manager is like finding gold in the recording industry. A manager takes care of the income part of your career, he makes sure that you are making money. He will check on the progress of your album; he will talk to the record company; he along with the record company will get you concerts and talk with promoters; he will make sure you have the things you need to make that Billboard chart-topping album, and a lot of times he is the person who starts your career by getting you that all important thing called a “record deal”. These are the services a good manager performs for his client, and he is paid a percentage of your income for this. It may take you awhile to hook-up with a real one, so don’t get discouraged. He will show up sooner our later if you have talent. If you can make money for him. Just remember - the music business is a legitimate business and a real business.

5. Determination - this is the whole thing, this one word is the key to your success in the recording industry. Capture this element and success will more than likely follow. Determination means being totally focused on making it in this industry, believing in yourself, believing in your talent, persuing a music career in the face of obstacles. You must have a no giving up attitude, they will say “You won’t make it”, you must feel deep within yourself that you will and must make it. Many talented people after failure on shows like Star Search and even American Idol give up on the music business. You must say,“I won’t succumb to my fears, I’m going to succeed in this industry, I must succeed”. This is the true key to a successful recording industry career. You’re going to need determination at every step in your career. Show determination and the music industry will eventually notice you and the music-buying public will also notice you.

This article is just like a shining light. The information it provides is truly priceless. If you are contemplating a career in the music world, this is an article made for you. It comes from one who is living it everyday. I, the author, stand behind every word in this article and I give these gems out freely to all my fellow music lovers and creators. Apply what you can, reread it often and apply some more. It will become a light showing you the way. Let it give you inspiration and show you the way to a wonderful music industry career.

American Idol crowns Jordin Sparks!

OK folks,
Jordin Sparks, a beautiful girl, wins the American Idol contest. Congratulations!! Jordin!! Now you know you were messing with my girl, Pat Banatar - that woman ain't nothing to play with -but love is love. Girl, you're so cute, Damn! I know your ready for that "hit" album. I bet you can taste it, just taste it. American Idol isn't big enough to hold me, so I had to create a blockbuster album. Yeah, folks its just about finished. I'm focusing on marketing now that the album is nearly completed. It has to be promoted properly to insure that it gets sales. This has been a lot of work, making an album is really difficult, even if you have talent. But now, I get to enjoy the fruits of my labor - and so do you. Music isn't easy to make, but it is wonderful when you can get the sounds to harmonize, and produce that wonderful effect we call a song. Whether pop, country, rock, soul or jazz, we love it when it's good. I know you're going to love my album. Jordin Sparks, would you like a "hit" song from me? Come on girl, we can 'do this'. I'll even call Sanjaya in so you don't get lonely, ha..ha..ha.. But I like Sanjaya. Folks my album is coming soon. See y'all.

I give you all of my music

Hello,
I see that they won't stop, they're still at it. There are many people in my business(music) who feel it's all about the money. I won't name anybody, but you all know who they are- their constantly on the music charts. These folks in most cases can't hold a candle to me. Put yourself in my shoes for a minute...Here I am producing these new and 'off the chain' sounds and I, like yourselves, have to listen to this weak, poorly sang and in most cases poorly produced bullsh*t. So when I tell you I am the best, believe me and demand I prove it. The proof will be provided soon enough, 'believe that'. I aim to please. I am not against a show like American Idol, I just don't think a show like that could take a performer like myself. Sanjaya is OK,..What's Up, Man!? I say these things because I always bring 'that fire'. Damn, it just hit me again- thanks babygirls for bringing 'that fire' that keeps my music coming through. I can't do this sh*t without y'all. Homies, y'all 'in the house' too. Yeah peoples, I'm as REAL as they come. I just got so much to give musically. Those late night shows, on the networks, are just sad music wise. Hold on folks, I'm on my way. I give all I have musically. Later.
