We Artists Hate Marketing!!!

Being an artist, I really hate marketing sometimes, yes, we creatives have to do it too - we’re businessmen, too. But let me tell ya....sometimes...sometimes I just hate the idea of marketing, it is so time consuming. It definitely takes me out of my artistic mode, makes me feel alittle numb, or should I say, alittle too left-brained? Puts me in a mood similar to an accountant, you know. And that is death to an artist, that is totally alien to our nature....sometimes I just wanna cut off my ear(yeah, in reference to that painter guy).

Well...I just wanted to drop this tidbit on you guys, I been marketing my art and music so much lately I had to talk about it. An artist can get extremely annoyed by business dealings, at least this one can. Well, back to “Artland”, the place I love so much.

Here is a new piece of artwork I finished recently:

SEO Is A Must In Today's Internet Climate

Well, there’s a smart SEO company out their looking at my SEO skills. Smart move on there part, I’ll be a true asset to their team. Bring me on board; get satisfied clients. Search engine optimization is a science - Google has made it so. It's no longer easy to figure out exactly what search engines are using to establish their SERPs anymore. This opens the field for anyone willing to study and master the search engine algorithms. It’s a grueling task but it must be done in the present state of the internet.

Website onwers can no longer just get a site designed, throw in a few keywords; then sit back and wait for a throve of visitors to come to their site. Those days, my friends, are long gone. The spammers and blackhat webmasters - along with the tremendous increase in websites on the wotld-wide web, has provoked the search engines to drastically change their ways of determining a website's value. SEO is a needed component in today’s internet marketing strategy. To have a successful website in today’s internet climate takes good internet and search engine opitimization skills. Without them, your internet endeaver will be of little value and a waste of time and money. So, put the odds in your favor and enlist a skilled SEO professional.

Jordin Sparks Signs With Jive!!

Jordin Sparks just signed with Jive Records. Well, that’s the goal: get on American Idol, get seen and get a record contract. Mission complete. Jordin now you get to do what you always wanted to do: sing for a living. What she has accomplished is what every single contestant on that show dreams about. Don’t hate me Jordin, but I can do without your singing - but that face is to die for. So, you do have some value - pretty faces come a dime a dozen only in the modeling and entertainment business. You are a nice, attractive-looking female, so even if your singing isn’t all that - that face makes up for it to an extent. Value is value.

Jive, Epic, MCA and all the other record companies look at the money first - musical skills second. Their prime objective is to sell records anyway they can, and good looks fit right in to their marketing strategy. Miss Sparks certainly has the look thing going, and that may be enough to propel her into superstardom. As I write this article, I see her pretty face in my minds eye. She got a look that catches the eye. Their talking(haters) about her weight; but it’s barely noticed, because babygirl is so fine above the neck. Oh yeah, before I forget - has anyone seen that beauty on that other American Idol clone, on that other competing network? She could be Jordin Sparks’ sister - no kidding. Another pretty thing testing the formula. Sex sells.

Now, the results this type of activity has on the recording industry is far reaching, it’s one of the primary reasons we have so much mediocre music on our airwaves. It’s not new to this era, no...., you could go back to the 40s and 50s and find worthless music. The generations all have the talented and the untalented. Just because a person can’t sing, that doesn’t mean he won’t make it in the record business - their are many examples of this - you know who they are. Yes, they can’t or couldn’t sing but they sell or sold millions of records. Some of these people are not attractive, so they had to be marketed in a different fashion from a Britney Spears or a Jordin Sparks. But pretty faces and pretty bodies are the most sought after components in the of maketing an average singer. Jordin Sparks is a shoe-in for sex appeal marketing - she has the “look”. Oh, how I love a pretty face.

Jordin, baby, I’ll be watching and even listening for you. Maybe you will surprise me and create an awesome album. You might get into the studio with a producer that will transform your sound, and bring out talent I just don’t hear yet. The types do exist in the music industry - getting them to work with you can be a challenge, though. I’ll be watching Jordin, so do your thing.

Google is sending visitors to my blog

Google is starting to gain my favor. The big giant is beginning to warm to my blog - finally I have been accepted as a friend. I’ve been rejoicing over my new stats now that the gaint is sending me visitors. As I have often said, you must work with Google, no matter what other methods you use - Google will always be a necessary ally in your website marketing plan. It is simply too powerful to live without.

My point has always been that we as site owners should always try and lessen Google’s control over or our internet existence, I have never said that we should live without it. That is a wonderful idea, but one that is in reality a dream, Web 2.0, backlinks and the rest ofthe techniques available for promotion of websites are powerful, but most of us aren’t skilled enough in these methods to produce results that can rival what we get from the search engines - esp. Google, the king of search engines. So, use the other site promotion techniques, but always remember to try and get along with the search giant. the rewards will be great if you can gain the love of this gaint. The plan is to use other effective traffic generation methods, but never forget about Google, Yahoo, MSN and the other search engines. Do this and you will soon have your very own piece of the world-wide web.

List Of 6 Ways To Be Less Dependent On Google

Think about it, with Google’s ever-changing algorithms, how can you feel secure about the ranking of your website? It may be looking good in its SERPs(search engine results pages) today, but how about after the next algorithm update. Can you really expect that your site to have that same position or better? Many website owners and their webmasters are finding Google and its page ranking procedures to be quite confusing. They are finding unexplained and unexpected changes in the positioning of their websites in the Google search engine database. Some owners are finding their once high-ranking site much lower in the the Google SERPs after one of search engine's periodic algorithm updates. This usually means a big reduction in the website’s revenues which means lower sales and possible failure of their business.

Google holds the fortunes of most websites in its hand, and with its constant algorithm updates who can be sure of their website’s search engine results? The smart businessman would be wise to look beyond Google as his sole means of business promotion. For if he or she fails in this area; they will most certainly have a business casualty. All business people should be researching other means of marketing to insure a successful business endeavor online.

That being said, Google is not the only way of gaining exposure for your website. You can implement strategies that will lessen the ability of the Google giant to control your internet venture. These techniques do require effort, but you can master them with patience and determination. Here are some of the most effective ways to get visitors and potential customers to your website:

    1. Forums - forums are a great way to acquire targeted traffic to your web presence. Forum participants are people with interests similar to yours. In a forum you will be able to engage in discussions on subjects related to your business. You can network with individuals knowledgeable about the field you are in. These people can and will provide helpful information on topics of interest to you. You can also share your knowledge with the group. Some may become customers or mentors; overall, you are sure to make contacts and get visits to your site. To get visitors, remember, you need to include your website’s URL in your signature(your name or I.D. with your company’s URL included) when you post a comment.

    2. Email - put your signature on all of you email correspondence. This is a nice way to promote your site in a very subtle and effective manner. The recipient will almost always take notice of your included web address and go to those emails if ever desiring to contact your site. The email will serve as an unnoticable marketing tool.

    3. Online classified ad sites - place classified ads with various online classified ad sites. Sites like Craigslist.com can be used to generate traffic to your website by presenting products and services you have to thousands of potential customers. Be sure to look into these, for some of them are totally free.

    4. Reciprocal linking - get backlinks from other sites in your field. Find sites that provide similar products and services to yours, but it’s best to make sure these products and services don’t directly compete with what you provide. That may not always be possible but always try to do it that way. Less competition is always good. If this can’t be done, just remember, a link from a site in your category will most certainly be of value to your website. You could receive visitors from your link on their site. So, be willing to cross-promote with other websites, it usually turns out as a benefit to your site and vice-versa.

    5. Social community sites - this is one of the single most effective new developments on the internet landscape. These sites are sprouting up all over the world-wide web. New and interesting communities are being created constantly, with people gathering to share their thoughts on a variety of topics, from animal care to WAHM (work at home). Joining these groups you a sure to find many like-minded people who will become your internet friends. You can receive helpful advice, and entertaining conversation on these social sites. Myspace.com, Mybloglog.com, Mylot.com, Facebook.com and others, are getting lots of visitors and are growing larger day by day. Get in and get connected.

    6. Bookmarking sites - sites like Digg.com, Stumbleupon.com and Reddit.com can send you literally thousands of visitors. There are webmasters who specialize in producing information and articles to submit to these sites in an effort to promote their websites. An enticing piece of information on one of these sites will cause a stream of prying eyes to your website. Some of the visitors will continue to visit your site which can mean a constant improvement in your site’s readership. Register with them and see an increase in your site’s popularity.

Now, as you can see - there are ways to get around Google. It can be done, but you are going to have to work to make it happen. Google is a very valuable giant to have on your side, and we all know that. But letting this giant control the total well-being of your website can be foolhardy. As I’ve said above: Google updates its methods of calculating search engine rankings constantly. You are, therefore, at its mercy regarding your website’s visibility - you maybe sitting high in the SERPs today - but what about tomorrow? Do the things suggested above to insure a more controllable website marketing future for your business. Use the information and enjoy the rewards!

Use Google and Other things to get visits to your website

Hello folks,
Here's some more info I'm making available. This time I'm going to talk about getting people to view your website. Read this article carefully, it will be to your betterment :

Use Google and Other things to get visits to your website

I was just like many of you out there, I created a website and thought I was now ready for, and would get attention through my new site. Man, I was so, so wrong, that was the sour truth that I had to swallow. I started out extremely optimistic, but I was to find out that having a site on the world wide web is only that, it is only the first step to internet success. Having a web presence only means your website is available to the public. The site is now accessible to anybody who would like to view it but that is only the beginning. Now, here’s the shocker: yes, the site is out there for all to see but who’s seeing it? I bet you never thought about that. See, you have this wonderful website, but you’ve got no visitors - nobody knows you have a site - nobody knows your website exists. So, most of you, like I did, quickly realize that you have a very big problem. The problem is no traffic but that can be solved in many ways. I’m going to tell you some things to do:

Learn About Search Engines

Search engines, these are the main reason your site gets no visitors. A search engine is a database that contains the information about most websites on the www or world-wide web. Google is the biggest and most popular search engine, but there are thousands more. To get into a search engine, you will most likely have to submit your site to the particular search engine. Another way is to get your site linked to or listed on a popular site, the search engines visit popular sites often, and list the new sites listed on those popular websites. A search engine is like a telephone book, it helps you locate sites in the fields your interested in. It’s the same as using the ”yellow pages”, only these yellow pages are for the internet. To find search engines go to Google and type in ”search engines” and go to those sites and submit your website. It can take months for them to include your site, so be patient. The other method will shorten the time considerably.

Learn SEO

SEO is short for ”search engine opitimization”. This is only for the true do it-yourselfers, for this can take a long time to master, and it isn’t easy. You will need to study it with determination. SEO is part of what a webmaster studies, he must know it in order to get his website or websites, known by the public. SEO is the study of how search engines work. There are certain criteria the search engines look for in a website, and the search engines themselves are complex machines, but you won’t need to know everything to get your site in these search engines. In SEO you will learn about site content, meta tags, keywords, etc., it will take time. There are some rather simple things that can be done with your website that will make a search engine give attention to your site. So don't let the search engines scare you off. You just have to learn.

Try Web 2.0

What’s Web 2.0? The term, Web 2.0, is used to indicate the new web communities, such as Myspace, Digg and many others. The internet is much different from the early days, the changes are phenomenial. Web 2.0 is one of the newest developments. Well, anyway, don’t feel overwhelmed, it’s easy to get involved with Web 2.0. Just type in ”social communities on the internet” or ”bookmarking sites”, then go to those sites and register. When registered you will be able to list you site ane articles you’ve written. This will get your website noticed if the communities find you and your site interesting. They will become visitors to your site - it works if you work it.

Above I have relayed some good information on getting your website noticed, reread this information and then apply it. This information will not help you if you don’t apply it. And that means your site will remain lost in internet space, with no visitors. So, go to work, use the information I have freely given you, and see your web presence improve.

American Idol crowns Jordin Sparks!

OK folks,
Jordin Sparks, a beautiful girl, wins the American Idol contest. Congratulations!! Jordin!! Now you know you were messing with my girl, Pat Banatar - that woman ain't nothing to play with -but love is love. Girl, you're so cute, Damn! I know your ready for that "hit" album. I bet you can taste it, just taste it. American Idol isn't big enough to hold me, so I had to create a blockbuster album. Yeah, folks its just about finished. I'm focusing on marketing now that the album is nearly completed. It has to be promoted properly to insure that it gets sales. This has been a lot of work, making an album is really difficult, even if you have talent. But now, I get to enjoy the fruits of my labor - and so do you. Music isn't easy to make, but it is wonderful when you can get the sounds to harmonize, and produce that wonderful effect we call a song. Whether pop, country, rock, soul or jazz, we love it when it's good. I know you're going to love my album. Jordin Sparks, would you like a "hit" song from me? Come on girl, we can 'do this'. I'll even call Sanjaya in so you don't get lonely, ha..ha..ha.. But I like Sanjaya. Folks my album is coming soon. See y'all.

Thinking of my little Angel

Hi there,
I've been thinking about my sweet little angel, Glenda. You know? I'm going to keep promoting her until she's bigger than Pokemon. She has magic too, she can fly, make things appear out of air and her most precious power - she has LOVE. As I said before I love starry things and Glenda-the Angel is a very starry thing. She came to me when I was thinking of creating a cartoon . She just started flowing into my mind and before you know it, she was being drawn on the paper before me. That's how I created Glenda-the Angel, out of nothing. I really love her and she's all mine. See her at: Framed Art . Click on the Glenda-the Angel page on the site, she will love to see you. See ya.

Marketing is hard work

Hello,
I am the owner of two businesses and they require all the time I have available. Marketing these businesses is just not easy. You can spend days promoting your products and services. This can go on totally alone, by itself, no other task involved. This fact is quite shocking to any neophyte businessman; he becomes bewildered by the amount of time he has to spend on marketing. I'm accustomed to the fact now, but in the beginning, it knocked me to the floor. You start out with hopes for a successful business, thinking it won't be too hard to succeed; then you are floored by what marketing that business will cost you in time and money. You then see why most businesses fail. The decision to stop or carry on appears abruptly - What should I do? I've made the choice to carry on, I know I will be very successful. But you like many others probably feel enough is enough and let it go. I guess that's the difference in me and others. We all are unique. Those are my thoughts for now, later.

Marketing my framed art

Hi there,
Finally, I make it back to my blog. I've been working at marketing my framed art, and it had me caught up for days. Ask any real business person and they will tell you that marketing can take a lot of your time. But I'm back now and I had to let you guys know that I'm alive and in excellent shape. Let me speak on this marketing thing. I've got this wonderful site at: Framed Art. This site has exciting colorful works that I know anyone would love to have in there home or business. Well, people I've released the framed art article, it's filled with information on framed art, read it and enjoy. 'Til next time, see ya.

Two days of marketing

What up, peoples?
I'm just taking a break from two days of straight marketing. I've been studying Google, studying Yahoo, studying everything. As I have said before, marketing must be done if you choose to eat. It can be very hectic and you will need rest after doing it. There is no room for complaining, there is only room for effort. My main thought was centered on selling reproduction rights to my art. I was considering selling some of those rights to printers to use on various items(prints, greeting cards, etc...). Well, it's been days since starting with the thought and I've still not made a decision. This is not something to make a quick judgement on, it is a very important issue in an artist's career. Reproduction rights are not to be given away easily, the artist must be extremely careful in allowing others to reproduce his artwork. I'll sleep better tonight because the issue is now clearer in my mind, and a decision will be made soon. Until next time.

The contacts are growing

Hello Everyone,
Things are getting better on the networking end. I'm getting known and people are begining to contact me. My hard work is beginning to pay dividends it looks. I'm a wonderful, helpful person to know, and I'm always on the lookout for friends. Will you be my friend? OK, I won't get mushy; back to work. The things I produce are ready to satisfy their markets(artwork, music). The people contacting me are now aware of my talents. Will they be instrumental in the marketing of my products and skills? This remains to be seen. That's it for now.

In the network

Check this out,
I have been networking, and the results are looking a little slow as of yet. Give it time, give it time I say to my self, but it is hard not to want immediate results. I tell myself, no one owes me anything and that I must be patient. You guys and gals will need to do the same as I have; if you want to succeed in business. This is true whether you are in the art field or any business. Stay tuned, I have lots of thoughts to share. You won't go to sleep here.

Marketing my art

Man, I'm tired. I've been up day and night trying to get visitors to my website at: members.aol.com/framedartnow. Marketing art is the same as marketing any other product. An artist has to reach those who need or want his products just like the average businessman. No marketing, no eating. I like eating so I'm always getting the word out. Well, I need to take a nap. Talk to you guys later.
