A 96 yr old can’t vote in Tennessee?

Is it Tennessee, or is it racism? What is this?...Believe me, Miss Cooper has seen a lot of that but surely it had to end one day. Hey! We have a black president, and we can vote...OPPS!!! Right? No way they say, we’ll just change a law or two. We'll catch a few birds, blackbirds, with this one they said. Miss Dorothy Cooper, a 96 year old black resident in Chattanooga, Tennessee was just what was planned. Worked like a charm.

Miss Cooper be careful, I hear they have some sleek new jewelry for you to wear, too. Just call it the “chains of love”:

Preacher’s Koran Burning On 9/11 Shows Disrespect Of Religion

Well, that didn’t last long...he reneged on the deal. A Florida preacher, Mr. Terry Jones said he was going to burn Korans and no one could stop him. Now hes announces the event will never happen.Ii was all just one big publicity stunt, and he had the nerve and disrespect to use religion. What a flip-flop....is this socalled preacher a fraud or slick businessman? I’m convinced he’s both. Using religon for personal gain - he’s no better than the people he was attacking.

He should be ashamed...he really insulted and hurt many believers in the Koran. We all need to be more tolerant of other’s beliefs - be it religion or any other aspect of their native culture. This is America and we must stand together to keep this country strong. On this 9/11 anniversity let’s all remember what tolerance is all about....let us remember the deaths that occurred because of a select few who chose to believe in division. Their deaths must push us closer and not further apart.

To you preacher I say let that Koran burning stunt be your last stunt for that is not the way we Americans treat others. Mr. Terry Jones a preacher must have compassion in his heart.

Survivors of 9/11 I say be strong and keep your head up, we all understand what this day means. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Economic Downturn: Republicans?

No apologies this time...I just had other tasks to complete. So, here I am, again...I miss you too. Okay, let the show begin...READY? Here we go.... Alright...let’s talk about this economy...folks...we got problems, big problems. The stock market goes up only to fall down. President Obama and the Republicans are fightin’...Bill Parcells traded Jason Taylor away to the Jets(mindblowing!) and many other delights occurred peeps.

Hey...so negative, huh? Well...not really, one must always see reality as it truly presents itself ans wishful thinking only results in trouble. Remember....one should always look both ways before crossing the road. If you don’t...well....you gone get hurt...hurt badd...real baddd... See, reality only works if we are REAL...no sleeping on the job. Look...hey...the Republicans obviously were sleeping at the economic controls for a decade, look at America’s economic state. Well?? Agreed?? Reality is brutal to one who refuses to acknowledge it. The Republicans have gotten was into a mess beyond messes. May Reality help us. Okay my beloved Republican visitors, I mean no harm, I’m just stating the reality of the situation...if you see different...please...please leave a comment.

Well...that’s my take...my thoughts for the moment, hope you all enjoyed it. More to come.

President Obama: Is Jimmy Carter Right?

Yes, he said it, former Chief-of-State, Jimmy Carter, said the current president, Obama, is having trouble in office because he is an afro-american. Yep...he went ahead and put it out there, could this man be right? Is the nation really ready for an afro-american President, did we open a can of worms? Something is certainly wrong with racial relations at this time in America - people are seeming to take more allegence to their similar brotheren. It seems to be a trend to me...and this Barack Obama miracle seems to be the direct cause of this new unrest in America...can we get used to a black a president? This is a new phase for all of us and we need to try and listen to each other regardless of skin color. America is , indeed, the world’s “melting pot”, we must continue to get along...this fine country depends on it.

That’s my say so on the issue, what is yours? What are your views? Comment.

Ted Kennedy Is Dead: Camelot Weeps Again

Senator Ted Kennedy is dead and Ol’ Camelot takes another blow. Like the mythical, storybook Arthurian land of Camelot, tragedy has again struck a member of the royal Kennedy clan. Ted Kennedy is dead now and he has taken with him the aura and legacy of this legendary politcal family with him. He was the last of those political magnates to surface out of the Kennedy fold, he was a vocal, stern, and resilient senator. He helped pass many a helpful bill(civil rights legislation being a focal point for him), and championed many causes for people in America. Ted Kennedy showed he cared about the average man and woman; the average citizen of the United States. He will be missed.

Even with all the tragedy that occured during his life, and the life of members of his family, Ted Kennedy remained a steadfast, and effective senator. He refused to let the deaths of family members or events like “Chappaquiddick” stand in the way of a glorious political career. Like his brothers John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy, he was a force to be reckoned with during his many years as a politician and senator. But let us remember, even though we are faced with the fact that Ted Kennedy is dead, we will continue to feel him through the laws he helped pass. Yes, Ted Kennedy is dead, but this real American patriot will be remembered. This you can bet.

Damon Weaver, Kid Reporter Has A New “Homeboy” - President Obama!

Hooray!...Hooray!...Damon, the kid reporter hits the mark once more, only this time he out did himself. He finally...finally secured an interview with President Barack Hussein Obama, his new “homeboy”, he waited and waited, waiting for a chance to strike and BAM!, he captured his prey. Barack Obama didn’t have a chance. Damon Weaver and his teacher should be applauded for accomplishing this feat, what a show of preserverance...what determination...what resolve? Damon, the kid reporter was at his best.

What he succeeded in doing was incredible, taken that even few seasoned adult reporters have been able to get President Barack Obama to agree to a one-on-one interview. This little titan earlier in his short career acquired interviews with other famous people, he even had on with Vice President Joe Biden(a sign of what was to come), after Joe Biden he could almost taste President Barack Hussein Obama. But the president remained elusive; the little kid reporter was dissappointed for quite some time, it seemed he’d never get that interview. Well...well...we see what preserverance and positve determination can do - Mr. Damon Weaver has interviewed our President, Barack Obama.
Let us all learn from this young man’s shining example, let’s face our problems with the same resolve...surely we can duplicate what a little 11 yr old reporter can do. Or can we?

Rev. Al Sharpton Protests Mr. Madoff, The Ponzi Scheme Master

The Rev. Al Sharpton is at it once more, the brother is always in the forefront fighting for everyone’s civil rights. Now...yes, he does have his enemies but this brother remains a real fighter out there in this sometimes unjust nation. His detractors are usually biased, one-sided selfish minded individuals...willing to stomp on other’s civil rights. But Rev. Al Sharpton is never faded and takes all this unfair criticism as so much mindless speech...he’s a brave black man, talk doesn’t bother him, he has more important things to accomplish than worry about haters.

Right now, as I write this, the Rev. Al Sharpton is protesting the lavish treatment of that thief and Ponzi scheme genius, Bernard Madoff, questioning how he gets to stay out of prison and the rest of us go straight to jail. Mr. Bernard Madoff is a criminal, and a big one at that...how in this United States? How in this world can such an unjust person be out on the streets like he did nothing wrong? Oh...could it be his tax bracket?...Could it be his complexion? Hummm...hummmm...

Well, whatever, Mr Madoff, Mr. Ponzi scheme...while you lounge in you upscale penthouse - the Rev. Al Sharpton will be marching and demanding an explanation on how you get to do this. Mr. Bernard Madoff, I am sure you will be able to handle this uproar - you have a heart of steel.

America: Bad Economy, Macy’s Down But Let’s Be Strong

Wow...this economy is really...I mean really in a bad, bad shape...and it’s only getting worse. And have you noticed? Gas prices are beginning to once again climb up the charts. Folks, tell me, how much more of this can we take?... Well, me? I just bought a one-way ticket to Mexico and I’m out of here(ha...ha...hah...), okay, I just lied...I’m going to sweat this thing out with the rest of my fellow citizens. But , fa real...America is in a very bad place right about now.

Just today, Macy’s cut thousands, 7,000 in fact, jobs, yes, “America’s Department Store”, that famed dealer in clothes, household goods, and the rest - is slashing jobs. This news is very important because being a well known destination for shoppers, Macy’s troubles give a clear indication of the buying patterns of a large section of American retail shoppers. Being around so many, many years, Macy’s is a favored and trusted retailer, so, their inability to procure sales is certainly big news and a good indication of America’s economic health. Many people will patronize Macy’s even if they fail to buy at other retail establishments.

Even with this sour economy, we can grow...things are horrible but we can use this same weak economy to straighten out our ways; behaviors when dealing with these discomforting issues in our lives. In order to strengthen a muscle in our body, we must engage it in struggle or resistance, this resistance(usually asome type of weight) calls out new force; new energy from that muscle. This new energy, this extra effort infuses the muscle, causing it to develop and become stronger and it increases its ability to accomplish the task it seeks to fulfill(in this case, mental empowerment). Yes...we can become more able; more up to the meeting life’s challenges by strengthening our mental abilties and transmuting our negative circumstances, transforming them into more agreeable events. A bad economy doesn’t have to destroy us and turn us into down-trodden pessimists.

At this time in United States, we are going through a rough phase, we even hear the word “Depression” coming up, but we can allow our lower parts to destroy what light we still have in us. The economy is in abad shape but we can and will survive....this I truly believe. This United States of America is a fighter, we take our hits but remain strong to see another day. We will make it... We will make it!!!

Damon Weaver, Oprah, Biden, Obama And The Inauguration

Damon Weaver, the ten year old, Canal Point Elementary reporter who gained notoriety by getting to interview Senator Joe Biden during an Obama rally in Palm Beach, Florida, here where I live, is at it again. But this time he went on the road....he went to President Obama's Inauguration in Washington, DC.

That interview with Senator Biden was only one of the interview sessions he has accomplished, this mighty tot has now interviewed a quite impressive list of notables. He was able to aquire through donors about $8,000 to make his way to the Inauguration, where he planned or hoped to get an interview with then President-Elect Barack Obama. He did get to the Inauguration but sadly, he didn’t accomplish his goal: an interview with our new President Barack Obama but he has been able to get interviews with the likes of Spike Lee, Samuel Jackson, and even Oprah.

It certainly looks like this pint-sized Barabra Walters is on his way to fortune and fame. I wish him all the best and remember he is from my area, Palm Beach, Florida. He got to make it big(he..hhe..hee..). Damon Weaver, little man, thanks for your courage and positive example, you really made everyone of us Floridians proud. Thank you, Damon Weaver.

***Tomorrow Is Your Inauguration Mr Obama!!***

Tomorrow is your Inauguration Mr. Barack Hussein Obama, you came out of nowhere....no one even gave you a chance at becoming President of the United States. But you keep full steam ahead through all the negativity and doubting. You made history, you showed how to accomplish the impossible...you showed how to be brave in the face of the seeming insurmountable - given this - Mr Obama, all I can say is thank you and wish you a great presidency. For Mr. Barack Hussein Obama, you truly deserve to be call “The President of America”, and we all can wait to for your exciting Inauguration.

The President Of  The United States Of America: Barack Obama

History has now been made, we as a nation have made Senator Obama our President and chief officer of this land. We have gone to the polls, and chose this part Afro-American man as the person to lead these United States for the next 4 years. This is the crowning moment of a glorious legacy that this man, Barack Obama, has left on this nation. Never before has this country elected a minority as its President. Mr. Obama will bring a new energy and atmosphere to the White House in more ways than one. Race is only part of this new ambiance, but rest assured, race will continue to be the most focused about aspect of the new regime now set to abide in the most sacred estate in all of America: the White House.

Good luck Barack, you will need it but I know you now and I feel you will be able to courageously lead your fellow citizens closer to the “Promised Land”, for you have shown that you know the way.

Looking Good For Senator Barack Obama

As I write this, Senator Barack Obama has just won the state of Pennsylvania, a pivotal state in this election. Pennsylvania is a state with electral votes - votes that are very important for a Presidential candidate to acquire. Does this mean Obama will win this election? It sure looks good for Mr. Barack Obama, very good.

Mr. Mccain has ran a decent campaign, saying some interesting things but Barack Obama his done the same with more character and substance. He looks more powerful when he speaks, more believable...more ready for the challenges that face this nation.

Whatever...I just wanted to speak on this historic day and the prospects for Barack Obama in becoming the president of these United States of America. Mccain is in the fight of his life.

Update: Obama just won more states.

America, Halloween Is Coming!

Time for the ghouls, the goblins(esp. the little goblins), the witches and the rest to have some fun. Yes, Halloween can be quite the joyous occasion. I can remember trolling around the neighborhood streets with my friends searching for that golden treasure - Halloween candy - the stuff that makes Halloween such a special day for children. Yeah, those were the days!

Also, those were the early years when I didn’t have a care for the world; all was good, play, eat...then play some more. In those days one can really enjoy the holidays to their fullest - even Halloween - the strangest holiday of all. But now that I’m older, more mature, tackling the world, Halloween isn't the big show it used to be. It now, at times, reminds me of the horrific, and scary times we all face in this nation. People, Halloween seems to remind me of the terrifying, gloomy economy we Americans find ourselves in. Things are real scary right about now, the witches and ghouls are having their way with the American economy. And that fact tries to frighten the mess out of me.

Look at this: “Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve, and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson are struggling mightily to stabilize credit markets...” I read this somewhere recently. Ah man, ain’t that a terrifying bit of news? The monsters are winning folks...better go to plan B...Halloween has moved out of the virtual realm. We need change and change SOON - this country is in shambles... See what I had to say about all of this chaos months ago: Federal Reserve Chairman, Mr. Bernanke, On US Economy. Halloween lasting this long? Please!~!!!

Alright, not the one to scare the kids without a solution. Here is a solution to help us through these dark times, so we can enjoy this Halloween, and even use it for personal development and self-growth: The Halloween Method. We have to grow up and face the ambassordores of doom with the light of HOPE. Yes, be positive fellow Americans, it will help us through these tough times.

So, did I mess up Halloween for ya? Well, I hope I made it more thrilling, I brought out the underlying thoughts we all are thinking these days. I just wanted to bring attention to how subtle thoughts can be while still having force enough to negatively impact us. Go out everyone and enjoy Halloween!!

Obama...Obama...Our Next President?

Senator Barack Hussein Obama was a so impressive at the Democratic National Convention tonight, and me being a black man, to see Mr. Barack Obama, a mixed race individual, give such a shining and powerful speech tonight was like crystal clear water pouring down a desert-dry, thristy throat. This man, Barak Obama, looks like the next president of these United States, what a powerful and courageous delivery...this brave man made me so...so...proud. He brought back memories of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and his historic speeches...Mr. BarackObama was on fire.

Mr. Barack Hussein Obama’s address at the 2008 Democratic National Convention was simply ravishing, he stood before this nation speaking like a man on a definite mission; he looked serious and stern; he spoke strongly with authority and he spoke like someone deserving to be our president. I saw nothing but a strong and intelligent black man(ok, partly black man) showing that one’s race has nothing to do with one’s determination and desire to accomplish. Tonight was historic and totally amazing and I have Senator Barack Obama to thank. Thank you Barak Obama, thank you so very much.

US Gas Is Sky High - Wish I Owned An Oil Company

They are raking it in, the oil sheiks of the Middle East, our own beloved American oil companies - Shell, Texaco, Exxon, Mobil, Chevron, Amaco and the rest. The oil is pumping and the already swollen pockets are getting bigger and bigger. Money, money, money for all...except us, the petroleum-buying public, most of us are suffering, we can’t believe the prices. It’s as if we have become pawns in a terrifying oil/energy game. Will Texaco, Exxon, Chevron, Amaco save us - please, their part of the problem - these American oil giants are in bed with their eastern oil buddies - and man, aren’t we getting the shaft. Pandora’s box has opened and folks we are in trouble, the oilmen have gone wild and all control has been lost.

Our economy is being beat-down by the shenanigans being pulled by the worlds oil producers; don’t look for oil prices to ever return to previous levels; wave the past oil prices bye-bye. The US economy is tied to the Middle Eastern oil fields - first we lost soldiers, now we’re losing our economy. Their some happy Americans though: the Us oil companies and their shareholders. But too bad - that leaves most of us out - so we continue to suffer these offending energy prices. I think there is a conspiracy about; I see no other reason for these unusually high gas prices, something is going on and it’s going on within the top levels of the United States Government. Something just ain’t right, peeps.

It’s not going to matter who gets the presidency if this oil issue isn’t fixed, for the economy will continue to take a dive. “Elementary Watson”, you need not be a rocket scientist to figure this one out. What can we do? Not much really, unless we get political - you know - band together, march on Capital Hill - that’s about all we can do. We are going to have to change some laws and that requires work, lots of work.

The Oil sheiks and the oil companies are in heaven these days, they aren’t thinking about us poor little sheep, somehow we must find the strength to carry-on. These companies are not going to change so we must change, we need to learn conservation and be more shrewd iin our economic lives. This will help tremendously - sticking to a positive plan of action. All hope is not lost for our economy, things can get better but right now, implement a plan of positve action and make sure to follow it. I’ll be busy doing the same.

Federal Reserve Chairman, Mr. Bernanke, On US Economy

Yes, as you’ve noticed, I’ve been away a bit. You guys didn’t get too lonely did ya? I’m OK, I‘ve just been busy, busy, busy...but I’m back now and here’s the scoop: The economy is in bad shape. I hope that bit of top secret info didn’t cause you guys too much shock, they(the Feds, etc.) have pulled the wool over our sweet little sheep eyes again. I remember hearing the Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke, say in the latter part of last year that we were not in for a recession, but I knew from the looks of things - jobs, gas, housing - that oh yes, we were in a recession in 2007 and certainly now in 2008 - the Feds always have a way of hiding the truth. It’s called lying, oh my, such a dirty word. You mean the federal government, our fine and distingished statesmen lied to us. Why treat us like this, we sheep haven’t done anything wrong, we’re always good little blind and nieve creatures...Why?...Why?...Why?

America might be the “promise land” but we don’t always get everything we’re promised. Mr. Ben Bernanke , our beloved Fed Chairman, has finally admitted what most of us knew all along - we are in - okay, we are heading in the direction of a recession. Whoo...I think I need to wipe my face after that one. You would have thought Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke was pulling teeth - but whose teeth, ours or his? Any way folks, we going to be alright. Right?

Of course, I must, I must, it’s my solemn duty to leave you with some bountiful, uplifting thoughts to lighten your load. Even though our most honored and respected Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke has given us some rather foil news - we must not let that send our minds and hearts into a pessimstic dungeon. This is a first time we have experienced quite a few times before, a recession, a downturn in the economy, and surely it won’t be the last. This United States of America will make it through these somewhat turbulent times and each and everyone of us loyal sheep will take our part in this country’s recovery. We will make, we will make it. We all should focus on what we as single individuals can do to make America, our glorious country, what it has always been - The world’s strongest nation. Stand up and salute this wonderful place called the “United States of America”. I leave you all with this.

Shout-Out To America And The Soldiers In Iraq

This isn’t going to be a vote for or against the war we find ourselves in over in Iraq, instead I want to show my gratitude for the people over there who are sacrificing everything for this country. I want them to know that I think about them a whole lot, and that they are doing a very admirable job - protecting this country - our beloved United States of America. What greater love can a man or woman have than to lay down his or her life for his brother.

Many of you soldiers are coming back to America, your home, in an impaired condition. Some of you aren’t returning at all. I think of your courage and love for America - you all make me proud to be in America - the greatest country of all.

Soldiers, know that most people in America and elsewhere see as I do. Let not the word Vietnam shed darkness and dishonor over your so honorable actions in Iraq, you brave men and women are obeying your Commander-in-Chief like a good knight would serve his king. I stand and give each and everyone of you a round of applaud for keeping this country strong. So, soldiers feel good about yourselves for we appreciate the work you do - Protecting the United States of America. Thank you so much.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Showed The Way

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968 - the day America will always mourn - one of its most courageous and upright citizens was killed by a sniper’s bullet. Since the horrible slaying of Dr. King, this nation has certainly progressed in racial relations, which shows what a positive and noble aim can accomplish. America is a better country from the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and others like him.

This United States of America has always been a country known for great its commitments, innovations and accomplishments - and equalizing the rights of all of its populace was one of its most ground-breaking actions. Its corrected civil rights policies have gone a long ways to improving this nation and making it a true “melting pot”. And individuals like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are the founding fathers of these civil right statutes. Our many races are now living far more harmoniously then before changes to the civil rights laws. Great nations do great things.

So lets remember the death of this great and intelligent man and continue to improve our nation’s racial and social issues. Let us remember the sadness of this day, but let us also remember the joy that this man has help create in all of our lives. We, along with the “DREAM” of one Dr, Martin Luther King, Jr., can do it. We just have to want it. Think about it.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Barack Obama: Yes, You Are Black

Did you see my man, Barack Obama the other night? He and Mrs. Clinton bumped heads. I thought I might have to break it up, talk about cats and dogs. Now, as we know, Senator Barack Obama is accomplishing things that a black man has never accomplished before. He is showing the world something new and taking the negro race right along with him. I’ve been watching this man, still watching him, but he definitely deserves my praise.

That debate the other night caught my attention, all I could say was - Go Barack Obama! - represent “homeboy”. He showed some hood and I saw and felt the “struggle” this black man is going through loud and clear. Mrs. Clinton is also under pressure being a woman but her’s is a different fight, an easier fight, Barack Obama is a BLACK MAN, this is a hard thing to be.

Senator Barack Obama is showing he ain’t scared - he’s talking and showing his “hood” knowledge - black people come in many shapes and sizes intellectually. Barack Obama, you are doing just fine and looking real good.
